April 2026 Newsletter

Some moments just feel different.

A room full of laughter. A night where you can fully be yourself. A space where you don’t have to question if you belong. Those are the moments that stay with us.

With Prism Prom Night on Olympus coming up in less than two weeks, we’re leaning into that feeling. But what we’re building at Prism isn’t just about one night. It shows up in our programs, in our community, and in the everyday ways young people connect, grow, and find their place.

It’s made of myth, but meant just for you. Something that feels larger than life, yet still personal and something you get to step into and make your own. That’s what this season is about, and we’re really glad you’re part of it.

Want to get involved? We would love to hear from you at info@prismunited.org

Prism Teens (Ages 14-18)
This month is all about visibility: what it means to be seen, supported, and celebrated in community. As we head into Prism Prom, youth will prepare for a night of self-expression, then come back together to reflect on what it means to show up as their full selves.

✨ April 4 | Clothing Swap (2–4pm)
An affirming space for youth to find prom looks that reflect their identity.
✨ April 25 | Movie Day (2–4pm)
A chance to unwind after prom and reflect on community, visibility, and shared experience.

Prism Café Series
✨ April 1 | Adventure Café (5–7pm)
A creative roleplay space with D&D, character-building, and collaborative storytelling.
✨ April 8 | Book Buffet (5–7pm)
A mix of queer literature and creative projects like zines, journaling, and art.

Prism Preteens (Ages 10-13)
Preteens continue exploring justice this month: what it means to use their voice, stand up for what they believe in, and support others with care. Through hands-on activities, they’ll build confidence, communication skills, and a stronger sense of how they can make a difference.

✨ April 2 | Activism on the Home Front (5:30–6:45pm)
Hands-on advocacy activities like letter writing and a mock protest to practice using their voices.
✨ April 16 | Game Night (5:30–6:45pm)
A fun, welcoming space for connection through games that build teamwork and community.

Prism Parents (Parents & Family Members)
Prism Parents creates space for caregivers to connect, share, and grow together. Volunteers help make that possible by offering a listening ear and supporting a welcoming, affirming environment for all families.

✨ April 2 | Support Group Gathering (5:30–6:45pm)
A space for parents and caregivers to share experiences, find encouragement, and connect.
✨ April 16 | Coffee & Community Social Hour (5:30–6:30pm)
A more relaxed space to build relationships, share resources, and strengthen community connections.

Prism Pathways (Ages 19-24)
Prism Pathways offers a welcoming space for LGBTQ+ young adults and allies to connect, reflect, and navigate early adulthood in community. Whether you’re exploring identity, career goals, or simply looking to build meaningful friendships, Pathways is designed to support you during this transitional stage of life.

✨ April 24 | Young Adult Gathering (5–7pm)
Join us for an evening of conversation and connection with other LGBTQ+ young adults. Location will be shared upon registration. Email info@prismunited.org to sign up.
