In July, the Prism team embarked on our inaugural Team Leadership Retreat at Cheaha State Park. Board members and staff united for team building, leadership development, and reflection on Prism’s continuous growth. Our retreat included strategic planning sessions, self-reflection on our character strengths, an anti-racism workshop facilitated by Rachael Reichenbach, scenic hikes, and a collaborative painting activity.

This retreat and our ongoing growth are made possible by the Center Capacity Building Initiative from CenterLink: The Community of LGBTQ Centers, which supports under-resourced LGBTQ community centers by funding operations, providing resources, and fostering leadership. This invaluable support enables Prism to expand its outreach, enhance its services, and become a more sustainable and effective organization. Thanks to this grant, Prism continues to thrive and serve our community with greater impact.

Wig Walk 2024

Purple spiral background with 'Wig Walk 2024' text and large date text reading 'Saturday, September 21'.

Prism United invites you to lace up and strut your stuff for our second annual Wig Walk, a joyful jaunt designed to strengthen the bonds between Mobilians and local businesses. This year, our Wig Walk logo features a fabulous new wig, adding an extra touch of flair to our celebration. We can’t wait to see the dazzling wigs you’ll wear this year!

On Saturday, September 21, Wig Walkers will take to the streets of downtown Mobile for an afternoon of bubbles, brews, and bites, culminating in a vibrant After Party with live music and local vendors at Braided River Brewing Company. This unforgettable event will raise vital funds to support transformative programs and services for LGBTQ+ youth in Mobile and Baldwin Counties.

Build a Wig Walk squad or join as a scene-stealing standalone as you don a wig and sample some of the choice tastes and toasts in Downtown Mobile. You can now support our cause in two exciting ways: through peer-to-peer fundraising or team fundraising, using Give Lively.

Come Out Mobile Gala

A purple background with glittery details featuring the text "Come Out Mobile October 5".

The Come Out Mobile Gala returns in 2024 for its third annual celebration on Saturday, October 5. This year’s event supports Prism United as we work to execute a successful capital campaign to establish Mobile’s first LGBTQ+ youth center. Amid growing adversity toward the LGBTQ+ community, especially our youth, this center will provide a vital safe haven.

This year, we will honor four community trailblazers who have forged a path for young people to live their truth out loud. Your support will make a lasting impact on Mobile’s LGBTQ+ youth. Join us in championing their future!
