School proms often come with a caveat for LGBTQ+ teens: they can attend, but not as their authentic selves or with the date of their choice. This leaves many LGBTQ+ high-schoolers feeling like outsiders at what is supposed to be one of the most exciting nights of their lives.

Prism Prom offers a radiant evening where LGBTQ+ youth can immerse themselves in an environment of acceptance and joy. It stands as a beacon of inclusivity, allowing attendees to be themselves, surrounded by peers who embrace and support them.

Each year has its own unique theme, and this year, we’re thrilled to announce that the theme is the Lavender and Lace Ball!

At Bent Broadway, performers take the stage to deliver musical theater classics with a bold, gender-bending twist! Expect laughter, heartfelt moments, and a truly transformative experience. More than just a performance, Bent Broadway is an unforgettable celebration of creativity and community.

Set to return this May (date coming soon), this event has a special place in Prism United’s heart—it was the fundraiser that launched us in 2018, and it continues to support Prism’s mission today. Don’t miss it!

The Come Out Mobile Gala is a vibrant and impactful event dedicated to raising visibility and support for the LGBTQ+ community of Mobile, Alabama. Since its debut in 2019, the gala has become a cornerstone for fostering unity, acceptance, and empowerment. The first gala successfully benefited both Prism United and Rainbow Pride of Mobile, two grassroots organizations championing the rights and well-being of LGBTQ+ individuals of all ages.

With a blend of entertainment, heartfelt speeches, and community engagement, the Come Out Mobile Gala continues to inspire positive change and galvanize support for crucial initiatives to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for everyone. 

This year, we’re excited to announce that the Gala will again take place at the Locale.

The Wig Walk is one of Prism United’s largest annual fundraisers, a joyful jaunt to build community between Mobileans and local businesses. Participants take to the streets of Downtown Mobile for an afternoon of bubbles, brews, and bites, culminating in a vibrant After Party at Braided River Brewing Co. with live music and local vendors. 

Build a Wig Walk squad with family and friends or join as a scene-stealing standalone as you don a wig and sample some of the choice tastes and toasts in Downtown Mobile. Teams will get to compete in our coveted Wig Walk Awards.
